Description
This primed Lake City military brass was pulled-down from previously loaded ammunition. Bullets and powder have been removed, leaving the crimped-in primer in place. Before loading, cases will need to be inspected carefully for remnants of prior loading and necks may require resizing. Necks contain evidence of prior loading (sealant, etc). 7.62x51mm nato

Lake City 7.62x51mm NATO reloading brass is some of the most popular and trusted brass among shooters and reloaders. This high quality, primed brass is known for its excellent consistency and longevity. It is the same brass supplied to our fighting forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and offers outstanding performance. This brass was previously loaded at the Lake City factory but was never fired. The bullets and powder were later pulled and MidwayUSA was then able to purchase this high quality brass to pass on to our customers. This is not loaded ammunition. 7.62x51mm nato

The 7.62×51mm NATO is a rimless bottlenecked rifle ammunition cartridge developed in the 1950s as a standard for small arms among NATO countries.
Although not identical, the 7.62×51mm NATO and the commercial .308 Winchester cartridges are similar enough that they can be loaded into rifles chambered for the other round, but the Winchester .308 cartridges are typically loaded to higher pressures than 7.62×51mm NATO cartridges for use in long-distance hunting of big-game animals. Even though SAAMI does not consider it unsafe to fire the commercial round in weapons chambered for the NATO round, there is significant discussion about compatible chamber and muzzle pressures between the two cartridges based on powder loads and wall thicknesses on the military vs. commercial rounds.
